Domestic abuse

Last Modified November 06, 2012

Domestic abuse can affect anyone, regardless of gender, class, age, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or lifestyle. It can range from threatening and insulting behaviour, minor assaults to serious injury or death, physical, psychological, sexual, financial or emotional abuse. It can be carried out by partners, ex-partners, same sex partners and other family members.

If you want to talk about it call the helpline on 08088 088 088 between 10am and 8pm, Monday to Friday. This is a confidential Freephone number and will not appear on your phone bill.

Welcome to Hertsmere Borough Council’s new website. In February this website will replace the existing www.hertsmere.gov.uk site as the best place to find information about Hertsmere and the services it offers.

Until then, you can explore the website by using this experimental trial (‘beta’) version.

PLEASE BE AWARE – this is a test website. It may contain inaccuracies or be misleading and links may not work. You should not use this site to contact us. Our old website remains the official website for Hertsmere until the end of February.
