The Safer Streets project is about making Hertsmere even safer and offers residents free security checks, crime prevention advice, fire risk assessments, the installation of smoke alarms, advice on giving up smoking and healthy living, in addition to information on voluntary services.
Representatives from the agencies involved visit residents to offer advice to help make their homes safer. Postcards will be delivered to homes before being visited by the Safer Streets team.
Residents who are visited will also receive an information booklet which includes details of local services and useful contacts.
Hertfordshire Community Meals is also taking part in the project. Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) visit residents who receive meals and offer them information and advice on staying safe and living a healthy lifestyle.
