Open and derelict properties

Last Modified February 12, 2013

Empty homes can be an eyesore and attract vermin. They are also a waste of an important resource whilst thousands of families and individuals are waiting for an affordable home. If you know of a building which:

  • Has been empty a long time
  • Is open or insecure
  • Is a danger to the public
  • Is an eyesore
  • Is causing rubbish or vermin problems.

Please tell us by emailing housing@hertsmere.gov.uk

If you are an empty property owner enquiring about council tax due on your property, please contact the Revenues section by emailing revenues@hertsmere.gov.uk

Welcome to Hertsmere Borough Council’s new website. In February this website will replace the existing www.hertsmere.gov.uk site as the best place to find information about Hertsmere and the services it offers.

Until then, you can explore the website by using this experimental trial (‘beta’) version.

PLEASE BE AWARE – this is a test website. It may contain inaccuracies or be misleading and links may not work. You should not use this site to contact us. Our old website remains the official website for Hertsmere until the end of February.
