Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) are open to members of the public and operated by Hertfordshire County Council.
HWRCs are open all year except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. The following sites are in Hertsmere:
Allum Lane, Elstree, WD6 3LS
Open all year, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm and Saturday-Sunday 9am-4pm
Cranborne Road, Potters Bar, EN6 3JN
Open daily:
1 April - 30 September: 8am -6pm
1 October - 31 March: 8am - 4pm
As well as general rubbish, a wide range of recyclables are accepted at the sites including:
