Donate unwanted furniture to the Peace Hospice shop

removal van loading furnitureThe Peace Hospice shop in Borehamwood is always looking for furniture to offer at low prices. If you have an item of furniture that you no longer need and it is in good working order for someone else to use, please call them on 020 8953 1985. If the item is deemed to be in suitable condition, the shop will arrange a free collection from anywhere in Hertsmere. Our leaflet  furniture re-use provides more information.

Alternatively there are some great online sites such as Freecycle, Freegle and EcoBees where you can donate/collect items for free.

 Bulky item removal

We can remove bulky items from your property for a fee. To ask for a special collection please contact us.

General points to follow:

  • All items you want to be collected must be listed
  • Only items listed will be removed
  • Items should not be filled with other rubbish
  • Items must be easily accessible and all placed at one point outside of your property.

It costs £45 for three items and £10 per item thereafter. We will collect a maximum of five household items, such as a three-piece suite (which is classed as three items), carpets, chairs, beds and mattresses. Please note: TV's and fridges/freezers cost £45 each.

Payment must be made in full in advance and then arrangements will be made with you to collect your item(s).

You will need to ensure your items are on the boundary of your property on the day, ready for collection between 7am and 5pm. It may be necessary to arrange more than one visit for certain items. We are sorry but we are not able to enter your property to collect items.

Cancellations
If you have made arrangements for a collection, but then need to cancel this, please contact us 24 hours before it is due and before 4pm. Where collection is due on a Monday, you will need to call us on a Friday before 4pm. You will get a full refund if you follow this procedure.
