Below are listed some of the events that we are planning for 2013/14

Youth conference

Once a year, local pupils in years seven to 13 get involved in local democracy. The event covers a range of topical issues affecting young people in Hertsmere; gives them a chance to learn about how democracy works; and provides them with an opportunity to meet local councillors to discuss and give their opinions on local issues.

This year we have planned an action-packed day led by local theatre company FLIP, which uses performance to promote democratic engagement in a fun and light-hearted way.

Prison Me? No Way! Prison-cell

Young people in years seven to 13 are invited to experience the prison system, including spending time in a cell and hearing the stories of prisoners serving a life sentence.

Learn to Live

This event includes a presentation by a range of people whose lives have been affected by reckless drivers and calls on young people to consider the implications of their behaviour.

Welcome to Hertsmere Borough Council’s new website. In February this website will replace the existing www.hertsmere.gov.uk site as the best place to find information about Hertsmere and the services it offers.

Until then, you can explore the website by using this experimental trial (‘beta’) version.

PLEASE BE AWARE – this is a test website. It may contain inaccuracies or be misleading and links may not work. You should not use this site to contact us. Our old website remains the official website for Hertsmere until the end of February.
