Councillors and councils

Last Modified January 08, 2013

When elected, all councillors have to sign an undertaking that they will observe our code of conduct. This ensures they maintain the high ethical standards the public expects from them.

Councillors are happy for you to contact them at any reasonable time, and therefore many do not arrange surgeries. Contact details can be found in the councillors' page and you can contact them for information and advice, to make a complaint or ask about council services.

Our Mayor welcomes invitations to attend events held by local organisations. Find out more about how you can get the Mayor involved.

Councillors, Members of UK and European Parliaments are elected to represent you. But who are they?

Parish or town councils are the most local level of government in England. Find out about yours.
