Council Tax - Banding
Each dwelling is billed for council tax, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat, maisonette, mobile home or house boat, and whether it is owned or rented. Each property is allocated to one of eight bands according to it's market value on 1st April 1991. Properties in band D will pay the basic charge and properties in other bands will be charged proportionately.
What band am I in?
The amount of your council tax bill will depend upon the band into which your property has been placed by the District Valuer. That band is based on the value of your home as at April 1991 when the valuations were carried out.
