Estates Management
The Council provides an estates management service for land and property it owns.
Services include:
- Sales
- Lettings
- Acquisitions
- Property Management
- Repairs
- Routine Maintenance
- Refurbishment and Improvements
- Asset Valuations
- Insurance Valuations
- Professional Property Advice
Property is offered to let when vacancies occur and very occasionally is offered for sale if it is surplus to requirements. Properties include lock-up shops, industrial and storage land, workshop and depots. Occasionally the Council will offer land for sale for redevelopment.
The land and property portfolio of the Council is currently valued at around £80million and includes:-
- Elstree Film Studios, Borehamwood
- Civic Offices, Borehamwood
- Cranborne Industrial Estate (part), Potters Bar
- Bushey Golf and Country Club
- The Point, Borehamwood
- Oakridge Lane Depot
- About 100 lock up shops in Borehamwood and Bushey
- Around 1,800 lock up garages
- Residential ground rents and dwellings let to Housing Associations
- Grazing land
- Leisure and Community buildings
The rental income from property represents around 10% of the Councils total revenue income.
