Safe in their Hands - Employing Young People covers the employment of children of compulsory school age.
It specifically targets 13 year olds who are seeking their first employment and explains the Health & Safety at Work Act laws related to employing school children.
It provides advice and guidance on working alone; the individuals' and employers' responsibility; road safety; lifting and carrying; with a table of working hours relating to the employment of children of compulsory school age.
The publication was produced by Hertfordshire Accident Prevention Group (HAPG) of which Hertsmere Borough Council is a member.
