Health and safety at work - Accident Notification
Accidents at Work should be notified as follows:
Are you reporting your accidents at work?
Do you know which accidents you should be reporting and to whom?
Did you know that all accidents which occur at work need to be recorded in a designated accident book at the workplace?
The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR) states that accidents at work should be reported.
Types of accident and timescales for reporting
- Fatality or major injury - Report without delay followed by F2508 form within 10 days (Fatalities should be notified to the enforcing authority immediately)
- Over 3 day injury - Report within 10 days
- Reportable work related disease - Report as soon as notified by Doctor
- Dangerous occurrence - Report within 10 days
