Don't take a chance on your views being heard - that is the message from Hertsmere Borough Council.

The council is asking for your input on how it plans to implement the changes to gambling legislations, which comes into force in September 2007.

In line with government legislation, the council is preparing a gambling policy and statement, which will explain how it will operate the licensing scheme for the next three years. To view the draft gambling police, please click here.

Phil Andrews, Principal Licensing Officer, said: "Gambling legislation is changing and premises that hold any form of bingo, betting shop, amusements with prizes, gaming machines permit or a small society lottery will be affected. It is vital that those people affected have the opportunity to feedback their views on how Hertsmere will deal with these changes."

The consultation runs until 15 September and all responses must be received by this date. Where possible, and in accordance with the Gambling Commission Guidance and the Gambling Act, responses will be incorporated into the policy.
