Work towards meeting local housing needs
Hertsmere Together partners will work together to support the work of the Hertsmere Housing Forum and develop and support initiatives to ensure that all Hertsmere residents have the opportunity of a decent home. Partners will work together to continue to enhance the supply of affordable housing, utlising land, resources and influence.
Partners will work towards achieving the Decent Homes Standard in the social sector by the Government target date of 2010 and improve conditions in the private rented sector. They will also prioritise resources and work in partnership to reduce fuel poverty by improving domestic energy efficiency for targeted vulnerable groups.
Hertsmere Together will work towards meeting local housing needs through the following key aims:
- To optimise the supply of afforable housing.
- To improve domestic energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty.
- To improve conditions in the private rented sector.
- To achieve the Decent Homes Standard in social housing by 2010.
