Hertsmere supports unique survey

Hertsmere has lent its support to a unique survey taking place across the county.

There are more than 60,000 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people in Hertfordshire, yet many do not disclose their LGBT status when at work, in education, when using healthcare services or when receiving other goods and services. This can mean that sometimes they do not receive the right services or that service providers are not aware of how to best meet their specific needs.

A number of public service organisations - including Hertsmere Borough Council -have joined together to support and fund the first ever Hertfordshire LGBT Voice Counts Survey, which will improve understanding of the needs and experiences of LGBT people in Hertfordshire. Responses will be used to inform the planning and delivery of local services to ensure that they better meet  LGBT people's needs.

The LGBT Voice Counts Survey will be live until 22 March 2010. The questionnaire can be completed online or a copy of the questionnaire can be downloaded via the LGBT Voice Counts website . You can also email survey@lgbtvoicecounts.co.uk or call 07508416076 to request a questionnaire in English, another language or another format.
