Money up for grabs by community groups

Are you in a community group that needs help to buy equipment or upgrade your facilities? If so, you could be eligible for one-off funding from the council.
Hertsmere Borough Council offers a community grant scheme, otherwise known as capital grants, that provides small-scale financial support to voluntary or charitable organisations that benefit local people.
Cllr Brenda Batten, Leisure and Culture Portfolio holder, said: “In the first part of this financial year a number of groups have benefitted from the grant scheme in Hertsmere. Elstree and Borehamwood Table Tennis Club, Herts Inclusive Theatre, Potters Bar Gymnastics Club and Radlett Bowling Club are just a few which have been allocated money.
“I would encourage any local group which needs a helping hand to get in touch with us to find out if they would be entitled to receive any money towards organisational or project costs.”
Those who received grants in the first part of this year used the money towards publicity, signage and new equipment.
Any properly constituted group, club or organisation, which is based in Hertsmere, or operates for the benefit of our residents can apply for a grant.
A maximum of £3,000 is available, but it can not be used towards day-to-day running costs, staff wages or insurance costs.
