Team Hertsmere finished in second place at the Herts Youth Games - the borough’s best score to date in the competition.
Around 100 children and young people from the borough took part in Saturday's event, and included teams from 10 local authority areas in Hertfordshire.
Mayor of Hertsmere, Councillor Linda Silver, attended the event. She said: "Hertsmere had teams in each of the sports that took place. It was a lovely day out and there was a great turn out. The crowds were very supportive all day cheering on each of the competing teams."
Hertsmere's football, table tennis and boccia teams finished in first place on the day, and second overall.
The council organises each of the Hertsmere teams who are involved in the event each year. The Herts Youth Games is focused around sport development and aims to encourage the involvement and development of volunteers, leaders and coaches as well as promoting the fun element of taking part in sports and the enjoyment of participation.
Not all of the participants are regularly involved in organised sports activities, so this may have been the first time they took part in a competition of this size and represented Hertsmere.
Councillor Brenda Batten, Leisure, Culture and Health portfolio holder, added: "I know a lot of the young people who were involved will be joining sports clubs as a result of enjoying the activities so much. Sports are a great way for young people to meet new friends and learn new skills. This event really did celebrate sport in Hertfordshire.
