Boost for festive lights

The lights in Potters Bar will be twinkling more brightly thanks to a cash boost from Hertsmere Borough Council.

Earlier this month councillors agreed that £10,000 should be donated to Potters Bar in Focus to buy Christmas lights for the town.

Cllr John Graham, portfolio holder for Finance and Property, said: "Christmas lights have a real positive impact on town centres and are regarded as of major importance to local communities.

"Hertsmere wanted to demonstrate its clear support for the scheme and looks forward to seeing the impact the money makes."
