It’s official: the play schemes provided by Hertsmere Borough Council aretop notch.

Hertsmere has been successful in achieving the Hertfordshire Quality
Standard (HQS) charter mark for the quality of the play schemes it provides,
the high standard of staff training and the outstanding work they carry out
within the community.

The charter mark, awarded by Hertfordshire County Council, measures against
good practice and interactions, observations, play opportunities, resource,
planning and monitoring. Hertsmere underwent a number of assessments from a
HQS verifier and was recognised for its range of play schemes which were
judged to be inclusive, diverse and fun for all the participating children.

Cllr Derrick Gunasekera, portfolio holder for culture, said: “This is
fantastic news, not only for the staff who deliver these services, but for
parents and carers across Hertsmere.

“We offer a range of activities and events for children throughout the year
with the emphasis on creativity and educational learning and it is good to
be recognised for the high standard of these events.”

Hertsmere will be officially presented with its award in January at a
special ceremony.
