Complaints procedure
How to make a complaint about the manner in which your Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Environmental Information and Re-Use of Public Sector Information request was handled.
We are committed to make information available to the public. We need you to tell us if we are not meeting your expectations in the information we provide to you, or if you are not happy with the way your request for information was dealt with under one of the access to information laws.
Complaints about the way in which your Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulation, Data Protection or Re-Use of Public Sector Information Regulations request was handled is processed under the Access to Information Comlaints procedure.
This procedure is intended to be used for situations where you tell us you are not happy about information we have provided to you in response to a request for information or the service received in the processing of your request. For example if:
- We have failed to provide information in accordance with our Publication Scheme
- You feel dissatisfied with the service provided in the processing of an information request
- We have failed to meet the 20 day time limit in complying with an FOI request
- You did not receive all the information you requested
- You feel that the exemptions have been wrongly applied
- You feel that you have been charged incorrectly.
This procedure is not intended to be used to report day-to-day problems with council services, which should be reported using the council's standard customer feedback procedure.
