Introduction

A brief introduction to Hertsmere Borough Councils Finance Department and contact details.

The finance unit is a small but dedicated team of professionals that forms part of a larger department comprising Finance, Revenues & Benefits.

The finance team is responsible for many of the essential tasks that help run the Council, with services including payroll, creditors, debtors, and treasury management. We also have a small management accounting team who, amongst other things help prepare and monitor the annual budgets, and financial accountants who are responsible for the annual statement of accounts, other statutory reporting and overall financial management.

It's not just about punching numbers though, as every member of the team provides invaluable advice and support to all our members, officers, suppliers and our customers - the members of the public. We also play a crucial role in compliance work and working closely with internal and external auditors to ensure the Council is meeting its statutory requirements.
