Annual External Audit
Following completion of their audit each year, the external auditors issue a report under section 260 of the International Standards in Auditing (ISA 260) whereby it reports to members any significant issues identified during the course of their audit. It also reports their audit opinion on the annual Statement of Accounts as well as the conclusion they have drawn from the Council's arrangements for securing economy, efficiency and effectiveness, or Value for Money.
The work carried out in preparing this report is used in conjunction with other work undertaken by the auditors as part of their annual assessment of the Council's Use of Resources Judgements which is reported each November.
The Annual Audit and Inspection Letter issued by the Audit Commission incorporates all external audit work carried out during the year and reports on the Councils overall performance, including its accounts and use of resources.

Annual Budget

Finance Strategies
Each year the Finance Department prepares a Financial Strategy which provides a framework to manage the Council's financial resources in an efficient and effective manner so that the Council is able to deliver its corporate goals and priorities.
