Governance is about how the Council makes sure that it is doing the right things, in the right way, for the right people, in a timely, inclusive, open, honest and accountable manner.
Internal Audit plays an important role in the governance process. Through our work, we are able to provide the local community, Members, management and the External Auditor with an opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Council's governance, internal control and risk management arrangements.
