Have you been doing it online?

October has been Get Connected month in Hertsmere and there’s less than a week left, so have you been saving yourself time and energy by dealing with the council online?

There are lots of things you can do on our website from the comfort of your own home, at any time of day or night, including:

  • find out about events for young people
  • look at planning applications
  • watch council meetings
  • keep up to date with our latest news
  • check what week it is for waste and recycling
  • get contact details for your local councillor

We use the internet on our laptops and mobile phones for all sorts of things so why not use it to deal with the council?  Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Communications Morris Bright said: "We all lead busy lives so instead of calling or visiting us about a query, you could save yourself time by checking our website first.  It's available 24 hours a day and you can email us at any time that’s convenient for you."

In preparation for Get Connected month a number of improvements have been made to our website in order to make it easier for people to use and find things.  However, please do tell us if a page doesn’t work or if you have trouble finding something as we will be using this feedback to further improve our website and e-communications in the future.

Get Connected month forms part of a wider Customer Focus Project which aims to make it as easy as possible for residents to get in touch with us and access our services.  Improving our e-communications saves time and money for both parties but for anyone who isn’t online don’t worry, you can still get in touch in the usual ways – by phone, post or in person at one of our offices.
