Make your voice heard

Are you registered to vote? Have you returned your form this year?

Every year, Hertsmere Borough Council sends out voter registration forms to all households in the borough and is encouraging those who have not responded to do so now.

A team of canvassers will be visiting residents who have not registered to vote during October and November. They will be able to inform people about the benefits of voting and help them in completing their forms.

Jo Bateman, Hertsmere’s Principle Electoral Services Officer, said: “We really want to increase the number of residents who register to vote in Hertsmere. If you do not register to vote then you cannot make your voice heard in the next local election. Some people may not realise that you have to register every year and if you fail to do so this could result in you being taken off the Electoral Register. Not being on the Electoral Register can also cause you problems in trying obtain credit or open a bank account.”

Every home in Hertsmere is required to complete a form and update the details of everyone who is eligible to vote and return it to us as soon as possible.
