October is Get Connected month in Hertsmere so are you ready to do it online?
There are lots of things you can do on our website from the comfort of your own home including:
- pay your council tax
- apply for housing benefit
- report graffiti and fly-tipping
- find out what goes in what bin and when they will be collected.
Nearly 80% of UK households have the internet and 17.6 million of us are accessing it from a mobile phone. We use it for all sorts of reasons so why not use it to deal with the council?
Leader of the Council and Portfolio Holder for Communications Morris Bright said: "Most of us have hectic lives and don’t always have time in the working day to sort out little things such as a council tax query. But our website is available 24 hours a day and you can email us at any time so please contact us whenever it’s convenient for you.
"It’s also National Customer Service week (3 to 7 October) so it’s a great time to show residents how they could save time by accessing our services online, instead of making a special trip to one of our offices for instance."
In preparation, a number of improvements have been made to our website in order to make it easier for people to use and find things. However, please do tell us if a page doesn’t work or if you have trouble finding something as we will be using any feedback during this time to further improve our website and e-communications in the future.
Get Connected month forms part of a wider Customer Focus Project which aims to make it as easy as possible for residents to get in touch with us and access our services. Improving our e-communications saves time and money for both parties but for anyone who isn’t online don’t worry, you can still get in touch in the usual ways – by phone, post or in person at one of our offices.
