A plaque will commemorate the dedication and service given to Borehamwood Youth Football Club by Barbara Cass
Cllr Sandra Parnell (Borehamwood Hillside) and Ernie Butler (Borehawmood Cowley Hill) both allocated £87.60 from their Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme to the club for the fitting tribute.
Cllr Parnell explained: “Barbara was a well-respected community figure who helped to establish the youth club and we were happy to support this tribute. She carried out so much for the club and the town and is sadly missed."
The £175.20 will buy the plaque for the club. Colin Hudson, chairman, said: "Barbara was a great asset to the club and loved by all and is sadly missed.“
Barbara passed away in September. She was pivotal in founding a thriving young football scene in the town alongside her husband Pat Cass, who died in 2009. They formed the Borehamwood Youth Football Club in 1976.
