A playgroup in Bushey will benefit from new equipment, thanks to the latest allocation of cash being given through the Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme (WIIS).
Cllr Anita Gamble has donated £600 towards outdoor play equipment for the Moatfield playgroup.
She said: "I am looking forward to seeing the little children of the playgroup enjoying the new equipment this summer."
Helen Poole, from the playgroup, said: "We are really pleased to receive this grant which enables us to enhance our outdoor play area."
Elsewhere in the area Cllr Pervez Choudhury has allocated £400 for a bench to be installed near the bus stop on Bushey High Street close to the junction with Bournehall Road.
He said: "It was suggested by a resident and I thought it was a really good idea, particularly for people who are coming back from shopping with heavy bags as there is no shelter or seat at the bus stop."
Cllrs Roger Kutchinsky and Miki Colne have given £220 and £2,000 respectively towards improving the security of the playground adjacent to the Scout Hut in Park Avenue, Bushey. A replacement metal fence will be installed to prevent cars from going on to the land.
Councillors in the area have also donated:
Cllr Gamble - £80 to provide a new screen for Bushey (evening) Townswomen's Guild, Bushey; Cllr Laura Gray - £500 towards a new computer for Bushey Museum; Cllr Brenda Batten - £600 towards the cost of new display equipment for Bushey Museum; Cllr John Graham - £600 towards the cost of enhancing the sound system in St Johns church hall, Radlett.
Local people can make a bid for cash to improve the area they live in by using WIIS, which allows each Hertsmere councillor to spend £2,000 on projects within their ward.
