Do the twist
24-Mar-2010 17:39:58
Doing the twist will become much easier thanks to the latest allocations of money through the Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme.
Each Hertsmere Borough Councillor gets £2,000 to spend on local projects and four Bushey councillors have clubbed together to buy a new piece of outdoor exercise equipment for King George Recreation Ground in Bushey called a twister.
The twister allows the user two kinds of twisting possibilities to help overall fitness.

The four councillors and the money donated were:
- Cllr Lynne Hodgson - £1,300
- Cllr Anita Gamble - £529
- Cllr Roger Kutchinsky - £460
- Cllr Linda Silver - £80
Cllr Hodgson said: "The equipment already in the park has proven to be very popular and we thought this extra piece would be something which many people will be able to enjoy for years to come. I hope people will get a lot of use and enjoyment out of it."
Local people can make a bid for cash to improve the area they live in by using WIIS, which allows each Hertsmere councillor to spend £2,000 on projects within their ward.
