A final company has been unanimously supported by a cross-party panel at Hertsmere Borough Council, to negotiate for the future running of Elstree Studios.
Based in California, Pacifica Ventures, which runs a host of film and television facilities across the world, was selected after presenting to a cross-party panel on Friday, 19 January. Final tender bids had been received from two companies with one of the bids having to be ruled out for not meeting the strict tender process criteria.
The cross-party selection panel supported the bid made by Pacifica Ventures and has made a recommendation to the Executive that the council should enter into final negotiations with the company. A final decision will be made at a special public meeting of the Council’s Executive on 31 January in the Council Chamber.
If the recommendation is agreed by Hertsmere's Executive, negotiations will begin immediately on the lease for the site.
The special Executive meeting on 31 January is being held at Civic Offices, Elstree Way Borehamwood, and members of the public are welcome to attend. The meeting will also be broadcast live on the internet at www.hertsmere.gov.uk
