Stars recognised at the Council

Hertsmere Borough Council presented its first STARS award this month to recognise the outstanding achievement of its staff.
The initiative known as the STARS - Special Thanks And Recognition Scheme – saw four members of staff presented with an award for their exceptional work.
Fiona Leadley, Assistant Landscape Officer, Asset Management
Fiona was recognised for working above and beyond her role to deliver some key projects on behalf of the Council, including the Bushey Rose Garden Heritage Lottery bid, which has since resulted in a provisional £1 million grant.
Liz Drake, Greenways Officer, Planning and Building Control
Liz successfully worked towards the completion of the new crossing across the A41 for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Liz worked closely with the Department of Transport and numerous partner agencies to produce the crossing, the first of its kind in England.
Stephen Smith, Revenues Officer and Jason Scannell, Senior Revenues Officer, Finance Revenues and Benefits
Both Stephen and Jason were nominated for their outstanding contribution in setting up the new Concessionary Fares System project across Hertsmere, which was successfully implemented on time and within budget.
Eden Lee, Chief Executive at Hertsmere Borough Council, said: “All the winners – Fiona, Liz, Stephen and Jason – have shown outstanding dedication and commitment to their role and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them personally.
“Their specific achievements have positively benefited the residents of Hertsmere and made our Borough a better place to live.”
Eden Lee, Sajida Bijle, Director of Finance and Legal, and Glen Wooldrige, Director of Environment presented the winners with the STARS award on Thursday 12 October.
