Call-in procedure
An Overview and Scrutiny can ‘call-in’ decisions made by the Executive which have not yet been implemented.
Call-in should only be used in exceptional circumstances, specifically where members of the Overview and Scrutiny Committees have evidence which suggests than an Executive decision was not taken appropriately. A decision may only be called-in if members believe that one of the following applies:
-
The decision was a Key Decision, but not dealt with as such; or
-
The decision does not comply with the Council’s policy framework or budget.
Full details of the call-in procedure and Overview and Scrutiny rules can be found in the Constitution.
