Hertsmere Borough Council Safety Advisory Team
An essential guide for event organisers produced by Hertsmere's Safety Advisory Group (SAG)

The purpose of the Safety Advisory Team is to offer advice and information to organisers to ensure safety and well being of participants attending events in the Hertsmere Area.
The Team consists of Officers from Hertsmere Borough Council, Hertfordshire Constabulary, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Ambulance & Paramedic Service, Hertfordshire Highways, Hertfordshire County Council Emergency Planning Team and the Health and Safety Executive.
The Emergency Services and Local Authorities need to know when and what events are to take place in Hertsmere, to ensure community safety during the event period.
Below is a link to the Event Notification Form. This allows organisers of events to notify the Safety Advisory Team of any planned events. Please complete the form and return to the address on the form, the form will then be considered by members of the team and if deemed necessary you may be asked to attend a meeting to discuss your proposed event in more detail.
As the organiser of any event, no matter how big or small, you'll have many different elements to consider in the planning stage. To help make your job easier, Hertsmere Borough Council has published an essential guide for event organisers, A Guide to Safe and Successful Events, which takes you through all the planning steps necessary to ensure you are well prepared.
Advice has been gathered from many sources, including the Ambulance and Paramedic Service, Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Hertfordshire Highways and Hertfordshire Constabulary.
The Council strongly advises you go through these guides when planning an event, and we hope your event is a big success!
