Thank you for scooping the poop!

Robert was spotted by Hertsmere's environmental health officers scooping the poop of his three-year-old papillon poodle Baloo earlier in the year. As a result he was entered into a free prize draw and won first prize - a sitting at photographic studio Imago, of Potters Bar.

Cllr Jean Heywood, portfolio holder for environment, explained: "Our officers are out and about in the borough and when they see someone clearing up after their own dog, they go and thank them and hand them a postcard to fill in. If they do this and send the card back to us they are entered into a free prize draw and every few months we pick a winner.

"Dog mess is unpleasant to say the least and a health hazard so we really want to encourage people to clean up after their own pets for the benefit of everyone else. It's nice that we can thank people who are responsible pet owners and I hope Robert, Lesley and Baloo will enjoy their photo session."
