Bushey Rose Garden – open for carols

Bushey Rose Garden will reopen this week in time for the carol concert on Sunday, 11 December.

Parts of the garden were closed to the public so that essential maintenance work could be carried out to the Summer House.  Councillor Jean Heywood, Environment Portfolio Holder, explained: "Some repair work needed to be carried out to the mortar work on the roof of the Summer House so the contractors came back to do the work as part of the original contract.  They had to put up scaffolding so we had to close that part of the garden for health and safety reasons.

"We're pleased the work is now complete so please come along on Sunday and join us for a festive singsong, the garden is a beautiful setting.  There will also be mince pies and mulled wine."

The carol concert will take place from 3pm to 4pm.

Children from Sticks and Stones Theatre group will be leading the concert and carol sheets will be provided.

Soft drinks will also be available and donations for refreshments are welcomed.

If you live locally please walk to the garden if possible as parking is limited.  If you do have to drive please use the Bushey Country Club car park off the High Street (WD23 1TT) or the council’s public car park in Kemp Place (WD23 1DW).

The concert is weather dependent – in the event of heavy rain it may be cancelled.  If you have any concerns please call 020 8950 2186.
