Waste and recycling collections - bank holiday

Waste and recycling collections will slip a day next week due to the bank holiday on Monday, 25 May.

It will be 'Week 2' so please put out your green/brown wheelie bin and blue box the day after your usual collection day as follows:

• Monday 25 May - Tuesday 26 May
• Tuesday 26 May - Wednesday 27 May
• Wednesday 27 May - Thursday 28 May
• Thursday 28 May - Friday 29 May
• Friday 29 May - Saturday 30 May

What can go in the green/brown bin?

• Cardboard food packaging
• Brown cardboard
• Cardboard egg cartons
• Toilet and kitchen roll centres
• All food scrapings including meat, bones, fruit and vegetables, tea bags and coffee grounds
• Grass, hedge and tree cuttings
• Small logs
• Vegetarian pet waste
• Straw and hay

What can go in the blue box?

• Newspapers
• Magazines
• Junk mail
• White envelopes - without windows
• Catalogues
• Telephone directories and yellow pages
