Grab a nappiccino
20-Apr-2009 16:39:46
If you've ever wondered about using real nappies make sure you grab a 'nappiccino' during Real Nappy Week, which starts next Monday, 27 April.
Hertsmere Borough Council is holding two coffee mornings to help parents find out what it's really like to use cloth nappies and learn about the environmental impacts of using disposable ones. The coffee, or tea, will be free and you will also find out how much money you can save by using real nappies.
Councillor Jean Heywood, Environment Portfolio Holder, said: "This is a great opportunity for parents to find out the facts about using real nappies - there's no fiddling with safety pins and there's no need to boil wash them.
"Using real nappies is the best option for the environment as it reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill - which is really important as landfill space is rapidly running out - and also reduces the amount of energy and non-renewable resources used to produce disposable nappies.
"Real nappies give real savings, real rubbish reduction and are really easy to use."
So find out what it's really like to use real nappies on Tuesday 28 April at The Radlett Centre or on Thursday 30 April at The Wyllyotts Theatre, Potters Bar, from 10am to 12pm.
