Waste and recycling collections in May

Hertsmere's waste and recycling collections will 'slip a day' after the May bank holidays as follows:

Black wheelie bin and black box (week 1)

Monday 3 May - Tuesday 4 May
Tuesday 4 May - Wednesday 5 May
Wednesday 5 May - Thursday 6 May
Thursday 6 May - Friday 7 May
Friday 7 May - Saturday 8 May

Monday 31 May - Tuesday 1 June
Tuesday 1 June - Wednesday 2 June
Wednesday 2 June - Thursday 3 June
Thursday 3 June - Friday 4 June
Friday 4 June - Saturday 5 June

Please use your kerbside collections to recycle as much waste as possible as rubbish cannot continue to be taken to landfill sites as space is rapidly running out.

No excess black or green/brown bin waste can be collected at the moment but extra recycling for your blue and black boxes can be put out in plastic carrier bags - please do not use black bin liners.

Please recycle glass at a local bank until you receive a new bin for glass, plastics and cans.  These new bins are due to be delivered across the borough from September this year to February 2011.

Please put your bins and boxes on your property boundary and close all lids.  If you have difficulty putting your bins and boxes out and no one else in your home can do it please contact us as we can provide an assisted collection - please call 020 8207 7480 or email street.scene@hertsmere.gov.uk
