Easter waste and recycling collections

Hertsmere's waste and recycling collections will 'slip a day' over the Easter period as follows:

Green/brown wheelie bin and blue box (week 2)

• Good Friday 2 April - Saturday 3 April

Black wheelie bin and black box (week 1)

• Easter Monday 5 April - Tuesday 6 April
• Tuesday 6 April - Wednesday 7 April
• Wednesday 7 April - Thursday 8 April
• Thursday 8 April - Friday 9 April
• Friday 9 April - Saturday 10 April

Please use your kerbside collections to recycle as much waste as possible this Easter so don't forget to recycle cardboard boxes from chocolate eggs in your green/brown bin and the foil wrapping in your black box.  Please put any plastic packaging in your black bin for normal waste as unfortunately this type of plastic cannot be recycled at the moment.

No excess black or green/brown bin waste will be collected but extra recycling for your blue and black boxes can be put out in plastic carrier bags - please do not use black bin liners.  Please close all bin lids.

Please recycle glass at a local bank until you receive a new bin for glass, plastics and cans.  These new bins are due to be delivered across the borough from September this year to February 2011.
