More flats go green in Hertsmere
24-May-2010 09:34:24
More residents who live in flats now have access to recycling facilities, with communal bins for paper, plastics and cans in place.
Flats in Bushey, Borehamwood and Potters Bar have already benefited from the scheme and the latest roll out includes:
Bushey
- Hogarth Court, Steeplands
- Ryder Close and Coldharbour Lane
Borehamwood
- Arundel and Balmoral House
- Balmoral Drive
- Bevan House, Ripon Way
- Clydesdale Close
- Fairbanks Lodge, Furzehill Road
Potters Bar
- Potters Court, Darkes Lane
The bins are labelled with what can go in and residents have also been given information about this.
Paper, plastic bottles and cans will be collected on alternate weeks and all other rubbish that cannot be recycled will continue to be collected each week.
Councillor Jean Heywood, Environment Portfolio Holder, said: "It's great that residents can now recycle more of their rubbish at home. It can sometimes make it harder to recycle when we have to take things to a recycling point so hopefully the new bins will encourage people who haven’t recycled before to get involved."
