Play Space!
The parks team have been consulting about play area improvements in Borehamwood. Find out more details here.

Farriers Estate and Ripon Park
Following consultation with local residents, play areas have been improved in Borehamwood this year:
Farriers Estate
Consultation events were held between June 2010 and July 2011 to discuss different equipment options and a number of local families and residents attended. We also consulted with the local police on the location of the play area and equipment selection.

A new toddler play area was installed in October 2011 on the large open space off Farriers Way. The equipment is suitable for children up to the age of eight and includes a multi-play unit with two slides, two cradle swings, a see saw, a rotating bowl and a springer. The Farriers Estate has been being funded by a nearby development.

Ripon Park
Four new play items were installed in Ripon Park in March 2011. The new equipment improves the existing play area and includes items such as an aerial runway, spinning dish, revolving cone climber and scramble cliff. An image of the scheme can be downloaded here. The project was funded by the Playbuilder programme from central government.

Aberford Park
The toddler play area at Aberford Park was the first site to be redeveloped as part of the Playbuilder project. The new play space opened in early June 2010 and new elements include grass mounds with bridge, climbing wall, tunnel, nest swing, stone boulders, sculptures, seating and sensory planting to create a more natural play space.
