Friends Groups
Community involvement is positively encouraged and some friends groups have already been established. The Friends help with new developments and schemes in each park/open space. New members are always welcome.
FRIENDS GROUPS:
BUSHEY
There are currently friends groups for Bushey Manor Fields, Fishers Field Nature Reserve, King George Recreation Ground, Mary Forsdyke Gardens/Warren Lake, The Rose Garden, The Moatfield and St James Churchyard & Pond. The Parks team also work with Warren Estate Residents Association.

Friends of The Moatfield
The Friends are carrying out some conservation work with the aid of Countryside Management Service having drawn up a management plan for the Moatfield. Louise Adams, Chairperson of the Friends said: "We would like to increase the interest of families and their children in conserving and managing the wildlife and natural vegetation that exists around the moat which dates back to the 1200s." The Friends of the Moatfield have recently been awarded funding from the Local Heritage Initiative to help fund the research and to hold a mediaeval event with local schools.

Friends of the Rose Garden
The Friends are supporting the development of the Council’s Conservation Plan and the management of the garden which is an important heritage site. The Conservation Plan will include repair work to the listed buildings and
garden, landscape restoration and refurbishment, as well as works to reduce the potential for vandalism.
BOREHAMWOOD AND ELSTREE
There are currently friends groups for Aberford Park, Clarendon Park, Maxwell Hillside Park, Meadow Park, Composers Park and Potterswood Park/Woodland Trail. There is also the Residents Association in the Interest of Studio Estate (RAISE).

This community group are actively involved in the Studio Estate which covers Potterswood Park and the Woodland Trail.

Four Parks Friends Association
A Friends Group has formed which will be actively involved in improving the four central parks of Borehamwood – Aberford, Clarendon, Maxwell Hillside and Meadow Parks.
Lorna Ward, Chairperson of the Association, said, "The Parks in Borehamwood are a source of pleasure and relaxation for the whole community, from young to old. The Four Parks Association want to make sure that there is something
for everyone to enjoy in our parks."
POTTERS BAR
Local community group Potters Bar in Focus are actively involved in all the parks and open spaces in Potters Bar and are always looking for new members.
