Friends Groups
Community involvement is positively encouraged and some friends groups have already been established. The Friends help with new developments and schemes in each park/open space. New members are always welcome.

Bushey
There are currently friends groups for Bushey Manor Fields, Fishers Field Nature Reserve, King George Recreation Ground, The Rose Garden, The Moatfield and St James churchyard & pond. The Parks team also work with Warren Estate Residents Association.

Friends of The Moatfield
The Friends are carrying out some conservation work with the aid of Countryside Management Service having drawn up a management plan for the Moatfield. The Friends were awarded funding from the Local Heritage Initiative to help fund archaeology research and to hold a mediaeval event with local schools.

Friends of the Rose Garden
The Friends are supporting the development of this important heritage site. Regular events are held in the garden from jazz to story telling and the Friends help fund these events which are enjoyed by many visitors.

Friends of Fishers Field
The Friends are actively involved in the management of the nature reserve. Recent projects include the creation of a new pond for wildlife. The Friends have helped achieve a Green Pennant Award for the site and hold an annual family picnic in September.

Friends of King George Recreation Ground
This long established Friends group have helped achieve many projects including the Green Flag Award and the oak tree seat. The Friends help organise a number of events including the Easter egg and Halloween trail and the teddy bears' picnic.
Borehamwood and Elstree
There are currently friends groups for Aberford Park, Clarendon Park, Maxwell Hillside Park and Meadow Park.

Four Parks Friends Association
This Friends group are actively involved in improving the four central parks of Borehamwood – Aberford, Clarendon, Maxwell Hillside and Meadow Parks.
Judith Sear, Chairperson of the Association, said, "The Parks in Borehamwood are a source of pleasure and relaxation for the whole community, from young to old. The Four Parks Association want to make sure that there is something for everyone to enjoy in our parks."
Potters Bar
The Friends of Potters Bar Parks
This local community group are actively involved in all the parks and open spaces in Potters Bar and are always looking for new members.
