Community involvement

Community involvement is positively encouraged and some Friends Groups have already been established. New members are always welcome.

A Freephone parks helpline (0800 731 1810) allows park users to be actively involved in the management of parks by reporting any difficulties or problems directly to Parks and Amenities.

Art in the Parks

The parks team are introducing art into the Borough's parks. King George Recreation Ground in Bushey, awarded a Green Flag Park Award, for example, is well worth a visit for the 'Caterpillar Column' and the 'Family' sculpture.  An unusual 'Tree of Life' sculpture can been seen in our other Green Flag winner Oakmere Park in Potters Bar.  In Parkfield, Potters Bar you will find a carved tree sculpture amongst the meadow.

Events

The parks play host to regular annual events from Easter Egg Hunts to Jazz on a summer afternoon.  For a list of our current events see the Events page.

La Dolce Vita cafe - King George Recreation Ground, Bushey

A warm welcome awaits you at the cafe in the park.  The cafe offers an array of mouth-watering dishes.  Please note: the cafe is now closed for the season and will reopen in spring 2010.
