War Memorials

A short description of Hertsmere's War Memorials

There is at least one memorial in each town and village in Hertsmere.  Each display a proud elegance, fitting of those brave men and women whose names are etched in stone on their side.  The memorials stand, a beautiful yet solemn reminder of the ultimate sacrifice each man made for his country, and ultimately for the freedom each of us experience today.

Borehamwood’s War Memorial stands in the busiest part of town opposite Elstree Studios.

Radlett contains a beautiful tall memorial on the corner of Watling Street and Shenley Hill.  The memorial is photographed below:

The village of Letchmore Heath in Aldenham contains a particularly fine war memorial in the small village green outside the Three Horseshoes.  It stands almost 20ft high and can be seen below:
