Kitchen caddies and garden waste sacks
Compostable liners and garden waste sacks are available to help you with your green bin waste.
Kitchen caddies and compostable liners
Kitchen caddies are available to put your food waste in before transferring to your green bin. These can be picked up free of charge from the following offices:
- Civic Offices, Elstree Way, Borehamwood
- Area Office, The Wyllyotts Centre, Darkes Lane, Potters Bar
- Area Office, The Bushey Centre, High Street, Bushey
- Aldenham Parish Council, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett

Your caddy can then be lined with either newspaper or Hertsmere compostable liners. Liners can be bought in rolls of 52 from the following locations - they cost £2.50 per roll:
- The Venue, Elstree Way, Borehamwood
- Hertswood Centre, Potters Lane, Borehamwood
- Furzefield, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar
- The Wyllyotts Centre, Darkes Lane, Potters Bar
- Bushey Grove leisure centre, Aldenham Road, Bushey
- Aldenham Parish Council, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett
These liners are compliant with Hertsmere's green bin scheme. Other plastic bags, such as supermarket recycled carrier bags or own brand compostable/degradable plastic bin liners will not be collected as they will contaminate your green bin..
Garden waste sacks
We are not able to give out extra green bins, however garden waste sacks are available to put out alongside your green bin. The paper sacks can be bought from the same outlets as the biodegradable kitchen caddy liners as above.
The sacks are 75 litres and can be filled with any extra garden waste that won't fit in the green bin. They can be put out alongside your green bin on the scheduled collection day.
Please note: three sacks is the maximum you can put out alongside each green bin collection.
