Battery recycling
Recycle all your household batteries.

Batteries should not be put in your black bin (general waste) as they can leak toxins into the soil if sent to landfill. Instead you can recycle them in special battery boxes located around the borough at:
- Civic Offices, Elstree Way, Borehamwood
- Potters Bar Area Office, The Wyllyotts Centre, Darkes Lane
- Bushey Area Office, The Bushey Centre, High Street
- Aldenham Parish Council, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Road, Radlett
You can also recycle them at a lot of high street stores such as Sainsburys, Tesco's and Boots.

You can recycle all types of domestic batteries - from those that go in your TV remote to ones in hearing aids. Better still you can buy rechargeable ones!
Non-domestic batteries, e.g. car batteries can be recycled at one of the Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC).
