Swine flu
Information on swine flu.
Since the start of the New Year, levels of swine flu have continued to steadily decline and therefore the Department of Health has decided to close the National Pandemic Flu Service.
If you think you may have swine flu symptoms, please stay at home and contact your GP by phone for an assessment. GPs will be able to prescribe antivirals and antiviral collection points will remain open for flu friends to collect them.
Should the situation change, the Department of Health will restore the National Pandemic Flu Service.
It remains important for those most at risk of complications from swine flu to have the vaccination. People in priority groups, including those who are pregnant and anyone who lives with someone whose immune system is compromised, should be invited to have the jab.
The council will continue to work with relevant organisations including the health service when necessary and keep this page up-to-date with any developments.
