The search has begun for a new Chief Executive for Hertsmere Borough Council.
The role attracts a salary around £125,000 and has begun to be advertised in national publications this week with a closing date in early May.
Recruitment agency Tribal has been commissioned to help with the recruitment process. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a series of assessments and interviews. It is hoped these will be completed in June and that a new Chief Executive will be in place by the end of the year, depending on any notice period the successful candidate may have to undertake.
Judith Fear, Head of HR at the council, said: "This is an exciting time for local government and we are looking for someone with strong leadership skills who is looking to work in a progressive and dynamic authority.
"This is an attractive opportunity for someone who will be able to make their mark and drive the authority forward."
Sajida Bijle, Director of Resources, has been acting Chief Executive since October 2007 following the resignation of Eden Lee.
