DAY 1

Depart during the morning to travel north stopping en route in the historic city of Lincoln. As you approach the City of Lincoln, from any direction, you are drawn to the magnificent silhouette of the Cathedral stretching to the skies, brooding over 2000 years of history. From the cobbled streets and antiques to the modern art scattered throughout the city, the past and present is all around. You will have a couple of hours free time here and can purchase lunch locally before we continue northwards towards Skipton, where having checked into the hotel and freshened up, dinner is included this evening.

Day 2

Todays schedule includes a visit to the magnificent Castle Howard, a stunning privately owned house with spectacular gardens, where you will have a couple of hours at your leisure to explore this magnificent stately home and superb gardens and grounds (entrance payable locally). You will be able to purchase lunch here before we continue this afternoon onto Eden Camp for your included visit, where you will be transported back in time to wartime Britain.  You will experience the sights, sounds, even the smells of those dangerous years. This is no ordinary Museum - Not another Military Museum - Not a glass showcase - to transport you back in time, to make you feel that you are there taking part in history. This special award winning Museum is an original Prisoner of War Camp built in 1942 and the fascinating displays hold, and reveal to you, the vital spirit which eventually triumphed in 1945. Travelling back to Skipton later today, you will enjoy your evening meal at the hotel.

Today you are met by your guide as we take you on a full day guided tour of the Yorkshire Dales which will take in many of the pretty towns and villages of the region. ther will be plenty of time for comfort stops and photo opportunities after which you will return to the hotel for dinner. Depending on the weather, we could offer a short journey by coach to the Victorian Spa town of Ilkley after dinner, where you can enjoy a drink (pay locally) at the famous Cow & Calf hotel with its magnificent views across the Wharfe Valley.

Day 4

This morning we check out of the hotel, you will however have some free time in Skipton as today is market day, before we head south, stopping briefly at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens which covers 19 acres and were first opened in 1836. Originally designed by Robert Marnock in the Gardenesque style, the Mediterranean, Asian, American prairie-style, woodland and rock-and-water plantings. The National Collections of Weigela and Diervilla are sited here. The gardens contain several listed buildings including the restored Grade II listed curvilinear Glass Pavilions, some of the earliest ever built, which were officially reopened by HRH The Princess of Wales on 1 September 2003.
