Art Play - a party and event service

Do you remember when your birthday party was the highlight of your year? Waking up when it’s still dark full of excitement and anticipation for your party, presents and cake?

Now you and your children can enjoy all the fun of the party and the best part is, you can leave it all to us to organise! At home or your choice of venue, Hertsmere’s Artplay parties are for 4 to 11 year olds and our experienced play staff bring everything you need for your room full of party guests to make and create – they’re only limited by their imagination!

Our parties last between 60 and 90 minutes and we bring everything the children will need to have an afternoon of fantastic fun – we can even theme the party! They’ll enjoy sticking, colouring, making masks, hats and bookmarks. Maybe they’ll be more elaborate and make a pair of glasses, a magic wand or anything that takes their fancy! We don’t even need tables and chairs – just floor space where we can lay down covers.We’ll even bring the aprons so their best party clothes don’t get totally ruined!

We’ve also solved the age-old problem of what to put in their ‘going home’ bags – they can take home whatever they’ve made and we’re sure you will be relaxed at the end of the day knowing we have taken the stress out of the day for you. At the same time, we have given you a great, fun, affordable service and you can rest assured knowing all your guests have gone home happy, learned new skills and will be exhausted and ready for bed!

In addition to our fantastic Art Play Parties, we also run events all year throughout the borough. Our Play Rangers run brilliant outdoor sessions and we can also be booked to do face painting and artwork sessions.

How to book your Artplay Party

1. Call our Party Hotline on 020 8207 7801 to check availability for your reservation. Please note our parties are available only at weekends during term time.
2. Complete the booking form and return it to us with your non-refundable deposit. Cheques are payable to ‘Hertsmere Borough Council’. Include the child’s name, party date, venue and times on the reverse. You can also pay by credit or debit card by calling 020 8207 7801.

3. The week before your party, our Artplay leader will contact you to introduce the team to go over activities, arrangements and answer any questions you have.

The above prices include all materials.

• For parties of up to 40 children extra £40
• A face painter (four weeks’ notice is required) extra £40
• Two face painters (for over 20 children) extra £70

• Themed parties (four weeks’ notice is required) extra £40

Please note:

• We retain the right to cancel the event (due to unforeseen circumstances) or charge an additional £40 on parties with more than the 30 children booked. Make sure you let us know of any additional partygoers as soon as you can.
• Once you’ve made your reservation, confirm your booking by sending us your completed booking form and payment. If we don’t get your payment within seven days, we retain the right to cancel the reservation.
• If you subsequently want to cancel a booking you’ve confirmed, please contact us within 14 days of the party date or you will be charged a £40 cancellation fee.
